Photo of the Week: three sisters

three sisters

I oscillated between two titles for this one: "three sisters" and "three's company".  One, an obscure literary reference, and the other a not-so-obscure reference to a 1970s sitcom.  (Thanks to Jenny for the first one).  Needless to say I think the two have different connotations, but in both cases the point is that these shadows evoke the image of people standing (or playing) in front of a wall.  Or at least that's what I see.  You may see something else.

This was taken on a Saturday afternoon walk in late November.  You can find more photos from this day on flickr.

The title "Three Sisters" reminds me of The Furies in Sandman.

Hmmm... there was this cute goth girl walking down the block right before I took this...

Just kidding.

Which book were the Furies in? I haven't read those in ages.

*SPOILER* They made cryptic appearances throughout the entire series, but their main arc was in "The Kindly Ones". The Furies (aka - the three sisters, the kindly ones, the weird ones, etc...)ultimately hunted and killed Morpheus.
