Photo of the Week: the hose knows

This week's photo is a minimalist take on spring, or "almost spring" as we like to call it here in Chicago.  There's still nothing truly spring like to photograph, but hopefully that's coming soon.

Photo of the Week: Pillars of the Community

This week's photo was taken from the Roosevelt Ave Bridge, just west of State Street.  I think this is one that you really have to be from Chicago to appreciate, and even then, a lot of people probably won't "get" it.  The smoke stack is part of the 301 Taylor Power Station, while the antenna is one of the two antenna on top of the Sears Tower.  I've tried to combine these two subjects in the past, but never really liked the results.  This minimalist composition seemed to work.

Nikon D90 with 55-200mm lens, 1/100sec at f5.6, ISO200.  I had a polarizer attached for this one.  Minimal post processing.
